Project List
Thermolog
2/2018 – 12/2018
CCNY 2018 Senior Design Project
Thermolog is a real time IR thermometer data logger that sends measurements to a server using a WiFi network. Intended for the food industry; namely, packaging and inspection. Categorize measurements before uploading data using ThinkSpeak’s API, which plots temperature over time. Emissivity, categories, temperature scale, and WiFi networks are user configurable.
Quick Change Hotend Board
4/2019 – 5/2019
The Quick Change Board is an upgrade for hobbyist FDM 3D printers, allowing for easy hotend assembly swap. Individual electronic components on the hotend become more convenient to service thanks to the on-board connectors. Gone are the days of dismantling the drag chain or conduit to fish out thermistors.
Network Door Switch
6/2018 – 12/2018
The Network Door Switch unlocks the front door with the help of a smartphone widget. An ESP8266 microcontroller creates a locally accessible web page that when visited will drive a servo to press down on the unlock button on an intercom. The device has a magnetic base, so faceplates made of ferrous metal can will support it.
Portable Range Detector
3/2018
This device gives audible feedback to athletes when they reach their intended range of motion during weight training. The 1/4 inch thread and adjustable trigger distance gives flexibility with mounting for most equipment. The Lehman College at the City University of New York’s Exercise Science department commissioned this for their motion studies.
